BioE research labs are engaged in a variety of projects to treat COVID-19. These projects are using computational screens to identify the drugs to be further evaluated for therapeutic benefits, using artificial intelligence to find parts of the virus that may be best for developing vaccines, using CRISPR technology to precisely target and destroy the COVID-19 virus, developing a new class of anti-virals to test, and using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryoem) and cryo-electron tomography (cryoET) to determine the COVID structures and prevent viral replication.
