Hajime Fujita (Haji) is a Ph.D. candidate co-advised by Prof. Tom Soh and Prof. Eric Kool. His research asks how short nucleic acid sequences achieve high affinity and specificity for small molecules, and how that recognition can be read out in a biosensor. He pairs array-scale mutational analysis with biophysical measurements to infer the binding mechanism.
