In 2023, the UHR Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (UHR-DEIB) launched the IDEAL Honor Roll, honoring staff and their contributions toward diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. This year, two Stanford Bioengineering staff members have been honored for their work building community and championing belonging in the Department of Bioengineering and beyond.
Olgalydia Winegar is a two-time recipient (2023 and 2025). As the Director of Finance and Operations for the department, Olgalydia has made community building a cornerstone of her leadership. She has uplifted many staff through recommendations for training, nominations to participate in programs, and encouraged staff to get involved in volunteer programs around the university. She invests in the professional development of staff in the department at every level. One nominator wrote: "She makes people feel like they belong working at Stanford - and that's the goal of community building work."
Kayla Jimenez is a first-time IDEAL Honor Roll recipient. With just under two years of experience managing administrative staff in the department, she is helping to lead the way toward equity and inclusion for our department's staff. Kayla is passionate about professional development and routinely brings back insights and knowledge gained to share with staff. Kayla's work "has [ensured] every member of the community has the opportunity to flourish."
Congratulations to our 2025 IDEAL Honor Roll recipients!
